Essay / Low Voltage Current Mode Realization of Digital Logic Gates Using CMOSIn this paper, a new technique is introduced to implement the basic logic function using analog current mode. techniques. By expanding the logic function into the expression of integer series and using an adder and a subtractor, the realization of the basic logic function is simplified. To illustrate the proposed technique, we consider a CMOS circuit for the simultaneous realization of the NOT, AND, OR, NAND and XOR logic functions. PSPICE simulation results, obtained with a ±2 V supply, are included. Mixed analog/digital electronic circuits are becoming more and more important. Digital electronic circuits are mainly designed in CMOS technology. To be able to integrate the digital and analog parts on a single chip, high-performance analog CMOS circuits are necessary (Ismail and Fiez, 1994) and a large number of mixed analog/digital VLSI integrated circuits produced under the best conditions. Digital CMOS technologies are now available (Laker and Sansen, 1994). In fact, the emergence of integrated circuits integrating mixed analog and digital functions on a single chip has led to an advanced level of analog design (Toumazou et al., 1990). Of particular interest here is the current-mode approach to analog integrated circuit design. It is well known that current-mode analog signal processing offers significant speed advantages over traditional voltage-mode signal processing (Allen, 1990). Currently, current mode implementations are available for a wide range of analog voters...... middle of paper ......onicsLetters, 19, 349-350.Kemp, AJ (1984) . Evaluation of translinear logic.
