Bowie was a man of many talents and experienced many ups and downs in his life. He had a very difficult life in his later years, but in the early days he was a seemingly normal child. David was born on January 8, 1947 in South London as David Robert Jones. He was very interested in music in his early teens and had learned to play the saxophone and had many musical influences based on his half-brother Terry. Terry Burns was ten years older than David and suffered from a serious mental illness that required him to be away from home for most of his life after David's parents reunited. Even though Terry wasn't around David often, Bowie still received a huge influence in the short time they were together. After graduating from Bromley Technical High School, David had become a commercial artist and also made music as a side hobby; Eventually, his music career took off and became the David Bowie we know today. Through all the tragedy, heartbreak, and drug addiction, David seems to rise up and show the world what he's made of. David Bowie's musical career was very long and lasted for many years and never stopped coming. at a standstill to date. As previously stated, he was interested in music from a young age and learned to play the saxophone at the age of twelve. For a time, while being a commercial artist, he had joined the group "Davy Jones and the Lower Third" where many singles had appeared but none had succeeded enough to become very well known. Around this time, David changed his last name to avoid confusion with another artist named Davy Jones from the band "The Monkees" (Perone), so he changed it to Bowie because of the Bo...... middle of paper... ...examples are The Man Who Fell to Earth, where he played the role of an alien, and Just a Gigolo.
