Fast food = junk food? Today in America, fast food is eaten every day and is becoming pop culture as more and more people eat fast food. Although fast food brings some bad impressions, it brings people comfort and great benefits in their lives. In fact, fast food is not junk but a convenient and useful source of life. Fast food is considered a convenient food that is an essential source in today's life because it is cheap, quick and easy to access, and sometimes even nutritious. Fast food restaurants offer hot and fast food at such a low price. Because there are many fast food franchise restaurants, they offer competitive prices to their customers. According to MSN Money, fast food sales remain constant even in negative economic situations. Particularly inexpensive meals saw strong growth while sales at high-end restaurants declined. Furthermore, the profitability of fast food indicates that fast food has low cost for high calorie content. For example, White Castle Cheeseburger Slyders cost 41 cents per 100 calories, which means that White Castle Cheeseburger Slyders offer efficient pricing for high calories (Healey, 1). This indicates that fast food generally offers low cost relative to its high calories. Fast food restaurants make food so cheap that they can afford to have a dollar or bargain menu, allowing people to have a full meal for just a few dollars. Besides the low cost of fast food, another major advantage is portion size; fast food restaurants offer high calories and huge portions at such low prices. With just a dollar bill, hungry customers can purchase a burger with a rich meat patty, a cone of soft-serve ice cream or a small bag of potato fries. If they are willing to... middle of paper...... they should not respond to customer comments. The “new” fast food pop culture is very different from past stereotypes that fast food is always bad. For example, some restaurants no longer serve foods containing trans fats and many menus consist of fruits and vegetables. It's important to make healthier choices to enjoy nutritious, inexpensive fast food; decide the cooking method, customize your own food and choose healthier options. Try to balance fast food with other nutritious foods throughout the day and make healthier choices whenever possible. There are many healthy, readily available, tasty and inexpensive food choices that can be eaten on the go. Although some fast foods may have negative effects, like typical fast food concepts, it is our choice to be smart consumers and eat healthy while enjoying the benefits of fast food culture..
