From intergroup conflict to interpersonal friction, conflict is often an intrinsic part of the human relational process. However, conflict itself is not necessarily a negative or positive phenomenon. It's how we handle conflict that can lead to constructive or destructive results. Conflict is defined in this study as a process of intense disagreement between two or more interdependent parties when they perceive incompatible interests, points of view, processes and/or goals in an episode of interaction” (p. 48 ). According to Ting-Toomey, S., Yee-Jung, KK, Shapiro, RB, Garcia, W., Wright, TJ and Oetzel, JG (2000) explained: "Although there are many factors that can contribute to a episode of conflict escalation, conflict style is considered one of the critical factors that can exacerbate an already intense conflict situation. Conflict style refers to structured responses to conflict in various situations. The conflictual interaction style is learned as part of the primary socialization process of one's cultural or ethnic group. Individuals learn the norms and scripts of appropriate conduct in conflict and effective conduct.
