Characters from Dark CityI did my report on Dark City by Frank Lauria. The main characters of the book were John Murdoch, Mr. Hand and Mr. Book. Ever since Murdoch woke up in a freezing bathtub in a strange room, he's been suspicious of everything. He is wanted for a series of brutal murders that he does not remember committing. He later discovers that he has a power called tuning, which allows you to stop time and change people's perceptions. A bit like brain manipulation. He soon discovers that he is being pursued by an alien race who call themselves the Strangers. They want him because he is immune to their brain manipulation, so he poses a threat to their strange world order. John Murdoch is the protagonist of this book and he seeks to solve the twisted puzzle of his past and his identity. Mr. Hand is an intelligent character who also possesses the tuning method. When he discovered that Murdoch knew how to tune, Mr. Hand had Murdoch's memories injected so that he could think like Murdoch and defeat him. Mr. Hand is an alien himself, he takes orders from Mr. Book. Mr. Book is the antagonist of the book. He is the leader of the underworld ruled by aliens. He is very wise and thinks about the procedures for taking over the city. He assigns each of the strangers to a sector of the city. When he learned that a man named John Murdoch was immune to their attacks, he knew he had to find something quickly. Mr. Book can also adjust. Same with other foreigners. The supporting characters were Detective Frank Bumstead, Dr. Daniel Poe Schreber, Emma Murdoch, Mr. Rain, Mr. Sleep, Mr. Quick, Mr. Wall, and all the other aliens who weren't aliens. appointed. Frank Bumstead plays a detective. Dr. Schreber is Murdoch's source. It helps him to always stay one step ahead of the Strangers. He also works for them but secretly provides information to Murdoch. Emma is the wife of John Murdoch. She helped trigger Murdoch's distrust when she told him she was his wife, and he didn't know it. The rest of the outsiders, like Mr. Wall and those who have not been named, work with Mr...
