Helen was very bright and intelligent, and with her amazing teacher, Helen could soon read entire books in Braille. Imagine trying to learn to read if you can't see or hear. By the age of ten, Helen could read Braille and use a typewriter. Now there was one more thing Helen wanted to do. She wanted to learn to speak. Helen Keller was introduced to Sarah Fuller. Sarah taught deaf people. Helen placed her hand on Sarah's lips and felt the vibrations of the sounds. She quickly learned how the lips moved to make these sounds. Helen learned to feel sound vibrations and move her lips to make sounds. She started by learning a few letters and sounds. She worked very hard and soon she was speaking words. It was another big step in Helen's journey
