Along with its introduction into the food industry, American society at the time was grappling with a wave of health problems and disease. Some wonder if there is a link between the introduction of artificial sweeteners and increased health problems in the United States. As a result of this investigation, research was conducted with the aim of finding a link between artificial sweeteners and chronic diseases and conditions. Some research has proven the negative health effects of artificial sweeteners. Surprisingly, most consumers don't hear about it. American children are fed these products and their parents are unaware of the dangers they represent. Artificial sweeteners pose a threat to Americans' health. The health concerns associated with the introduction of artificial sugars into the U.S. food industry need to be thoroughly researched and publicly addressed. One of the biggest influences of artificial sweeteners in America is the demographics of obese American children. Today, children's snacks typically contain artificial sweeteners. The government-supported inclusion of snacks in the American diet began in the 1980s, with the advent of artificial sweeteners (Trum). The presence of “snack time” in the American diet has contributed to the widespread use of artificial sugars in American households. One of the major effects of artificial sweeteners in American homes is their presence in America's worst eating habits.
