Pride and Prejudice is a very complex and detailed book that illustrates dramatic love stories that develop between three girls in the Bennet family. The author of Pride and Prejudice is Jane Austen. Jane was born and raised in Steventon, England from 1775 to 1817; she was the youngest of seven children (Wikipedia). She was very tall, thin, outgoing and much admired. She was proposed to several times, but she refused all his offers of marriage. She spent her short life with her family. Jane had a typical upbringing and began writing at a very young age (Introduction?). Jane wrote primarily romantic fiction, and all of her books included "intense realism and biting irony." Pride and Prejudice is a romantic fiction composed in 1813 during the Romantic era (Wikipedia). The Romantic era focused primarily on the individual and their relationship with nature. Given this, Pride and Prejudice didn't really fit the era given that the characters spent most of their time indoors and only developed relationships with each other. Jane composed Pride and Prejudice as romantic fiction because at the time of writing it, she was only thirty-eight years old. She had never been married but probably loved love. She was also a very realistic and ironic writer, and Pride and Prejudice being that genre, she brought a lot of realism and irony considering the time period in which it was written. Pride and Prejudice is Jane Austen's second published book, but it is her most popular work for many, many obvious reasons (Wikipedia). The story of Pride and Prejudice begins in the Bennet household with a humorous father, an obsessive mother, and five single daughters. (Wikipedia). The events that take place during the book are very interesting and always keep the reader's interest. Jane shows her love in an amazing way throughout the book. Jane revealed that love doesn't always have to be found in the excepted. Pride and Prejudice has a murderous plot and a spectacular structure. Jane never bores you with her diction. Pride and Prejudice has very few flaws, but the novel has many characters who are sometimes difficult to follow. Overall, Pride and Prejudice is a stellar novel with groundbreaking relationships. If Pride and Prejudice had to be summed up in one word, it would be prevail.
