The personal project is a project that each 10th grade student must design and exhibit at the end of the process. The students all chose different types of meaningful projects in their different areas of interaction. The project I chose to do involves creating special effects that often appear in films. My area of focus is human ingenuity. Special effects were created by man and are widely used in today's world. I chose to focus on the process of learning the actual process of creating the special effect so that I could create my own at the end of the process. I could also have focused on the field of communication. For example, hosting an EA or workshop to teach others how to create their special effect. But I choose to focus on human ingenuity because I'm more interested in the process and the outcome. Teaching others could also be inspiring, but I want to master the craft first. I chose this topic because I am very interested in films and the process of filmmaking. I've already shot a few short films and felt like there was still a lot to discover. I helped my friend shoot a 15 minute movie in G8 and there were no special effects in the movies. Although none of my family members are related to this topic, they support my interest and sometimes give me some little advice. After watching more films and reading more materials, I developed some interest in special effects in films. I also watched a few Youtube videos before starting my project. I watched a few short tutorials and found that some effects are very easy to do and look cool and realistic. My initial goal was to create a documentary, PPT or essay on the evolution of special effects from 1980 to 2010. After a while...... middle of paper......effects are quite easy to make. So the things that have changed my decisions are mostly related to the sources I can find. Some sources even informed me about the types of effects I should achieve as a beginner. I developed many techniques during my investigation, I understood how Adobe After Effects works and how to create effects in it. I also developed research skills. Especially when it comes to source selection. When I browse Youtube videos. I also learned something about creating videos. I watched over 40 different tutorials during my personal project and noticed a lot of interesting things. The videos that received good comments all have a slow pace. The tutors spoke slowly and clearly and demonstrated each step clearly. The videos with bad comments were all very fast paced and didn't describe things clearly..
