    In the epic, Gilgamesh and Enkidu discover this and realize that their powers can even make gods more childish and irrational than mortals. There are many examples of this in this epic, but the one that stood out to me the most is when Ishtar tries to get Gilgamesh to sleep with her in Part VI while she is overcome with desire. Gilgamesh also points this out to him when he denies it and says: “the goddess of love has become a slave to passion for which she herself is, in theory at least, responsible: I have nothing to give to the one who lacks nothing at all.
