These things intertwine because a man seeks admiration and for a woman to truly give admiration she needs the security of family commitment. Ephesians 5:22-25 says: Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the Church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now, just as the Church submits to Christ, so also wives must submit to their husbands in all things. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the Church and gave himself up for her. One way to view this verse is to view it as a commitment as to who the husband will be in marriage to his wife. When a husband is as committed to his wife as Christ is to his Church, the wife has no difficulty in showering her spouse with admiration. A committed husband is one who values his wife, respects her, honors her, loves her and encourages her. When a husband does this as if to God, compliments, words of encouragement, praise and admiration come easily to him.
