  • Essay / Difference Between Personalized Learning and...

This essay will discuss the terms differentiated learning and personalized learning and highlight how these two forms of learning can be implemented in the classroom. Differentiated learning can be defined as instruction that is an individualized process of teaching and learning based on learners' prior knowledge, abilities, developmental readiness, interests, and learning styles (Grierson and Woloshyn , 2012). On the other hand, personalized learning involves creating an individual learning plan to meet the needs of a particular student. Additionally, personalized learning does not mean teaching each child individually but trying to respond in multiple ways to the variety of children you have in the classroom (Dean, 2006). Tomlinson and Imbeau (2010) believe that there is a strong association between life opportunities and educational opportunities. However, Tomlinson and Imbeau (2010) argue that people often misinterpret the notion of equal access to education to mean that all students should receive exactly the same pace, resources and instruction in class. It is therefore a question of creating a single education system. Most importantly, differentiated instruction recognizes that students are not the same and that access to equal education means that, given a certain goal, each student must receive the resources, instruction, and support necessary to help him achieve this objective (Tomlinson and Imbeau, 2010). , p. 12).In addition, it is important for teachers to differentiate classroom instruction; this facilitates student success and preparation for international competitiveness by fostering educational excellence and ensuring equal access (Conklin, 2010 ). Differentiated instruction is demonstrated in the middle of the sheet......, to teach different ways to meet the learning needs of all children in the class. While differentiated learning involves instruction and is an individualized process of teaching and learning based on learners' prior knowledge and abilities, developmental readiness, interests, and learning styles (Grierson and Woloshyn, 2012 ). In conclusion, students learn in different ways and have individual needs, so students need to be supported in various ways. Differentiated instruction focuses on the strategies, resources, materials, and procedures educators need to create circumstances that can lead to success for each learner. Whereas personalized learning involves tailoring learning to each child. Differentiation and personalized learning styles aim to create positive learning outcomes for all students..
