Has anyone ever stopped and observed that almost all of the monumental societies in history do not exist or reach their full potential in the present day. Today, most of these unique cultures only survive on the internet and in books around the world. There can be multiple ways in which each society transforms into just a section of a different country or culture. But only a few can contribute to the fall of the world's greatest empires. Political corruption can provide fewer funds to the public and leave a society unstable and less prepared for an incursion. Civil wars kill many natives fighting against each other, and often result in many deaths and the country being vulnerable to other forces. External invasion destroys a culture and usually ends almost any great nation or empire. Civil wars, external invasions, and political corruption are the components of failing civilizations that have led to the total downfall of societies. Civil wars are an extremely important reason for the collapse of huge societies. These wars with one country against itself tear the nation in two or make it vulnerable to attack. In Syria, since March 2011, an incessant conflict has ravaged this country located in the Middle East. The war was fought because one side believes the current leader should no longer be in power. The opposition force supports the government and wants its leader, Bashar al-Assad, to remain in power and govern the territory. Tens of thousands of Syrians died fighting against each other over who had power, which significantly deteriorated the country. Civil wars kill many inhabitants of a civilization who are fighting against each other for various reasons, and often expose them to invasion. Political corruption takes contrasting forms and, for the most part, deprives critical tasks of money and supplies, leaving a society unstable and less prepared for attack from outside. Each of these cases has occurred several times over time. Governments and their citizens must address these events and do everything they can to cope and move forward. If countries or societies do not attempt this, they will sink and dissolve into another culture. Ultimately, a society will collapse or rise again depending on whether it chooses to monitor and remedy what others have done wrong..
