The Chivalrous Code of Loyalty is reflected in the modern book Breaking Dawn and the modern film A Bug's Life. In Breaking Dawn, loyalty is reflected through Jacob Black who remains loyal to his wolf pack, the Cullens, Bella and his true love, Renesmee. Loyalty is the feeling of devotion one feels towards one's country, one's beliefs, one's family and friends (dictionary.com). It's about staying true to what you believe in. During the time of King Arthur, knights followed strict rules of chivalry, honor, bravery and loyalty. Jacob Black is a Quileute Indian who is part of a legend. Jacob is a demi-human who transforms into a wolf during times of anger and combat. He can only be a wolf for most of his young adult life. Meanwhile, he must hunt down vampires with the rest of his pack because these wolves were sent to do this job. However, he forces himself to stay away from the Cullens, the vampires, because of his love and loyalty to Bella. This love turns sour when Edward Cullen is forced to turn his wife, Bella, into a vampire. Jacob hates Edward for what he did to Bella and, on a whim, decides that Edward should be killed. He is so furious that he doesn't even bother to learn the reasons why Edward committed this act. Jacob goes to the Cullens, where his whole life is about to change. "The gravity of the earth no longer held me to the place where I stood. It was the baby that held me here now. Renesmee" (Breaking Dawn, shmoop.com). The moment he lays eyes on the precious half-vampire, he knows that Renesmee is his soulmate.
