DivorceAnd the impact on everyone in the houseLittle girls' dreams and aspirations are to live happily ever after. Unfortunately, these high standards for young girls are completely unrealistic. Not every marriage works out the first time, and more often than not, the second marriage doesn't work out. In the event of divorce, children, like parents themselves, can be vulnerable to various stressors. Divorce can be embarrassing and affects children differently depending on their stage of life. Divorce occurs when a married couple separates and ends their marriage for various reasons. Factors that would contribute to divorce would be couples marrying too early; people lose hope about their aspirations, change of religion and financial conditions. These factors cause unnecessary stress on the couple and they feel like divorce is the only way out of the situation. Unfortunately, divorce is common in the United States and is the second largest in the world. The divorce rate has been increasing since the 1890s. The more developed a country is, the higher the divorce rates will be. Divorce began to appear just 200 years ago, in the 1890s. Since then, the situation has slowly started to escalate. “Divorce was therefore the means used by the community to show its disapproval when one of the spouses broke the marriage contract” [4 p. 501]. This would show that one of the partners no longer respected one end of the marriage market, “not only with the other spouse, but also with the State in general” [4]. Women generally initiate divorce. In fact, women cause 65% of all divorces. The reason behind this is that women tend to think in depth about different issues before their male counterparts.
