Not all leaders are famous like Martin Luther King, most leaders are ordinary people; you can walk down the street and meet someone and not know that they are a very powerful leader. Personally, I know a good leader who is an ordinary person; my father. Although some people believe that leaders are born and not made, I believe that anyone can become a leader if they have enough courage and thick skin. People come up with many words when asked to describe what makes a good leader. The most common characteristics used to describe a good leader would be a good listener, responsible and decisive. When thinking about what makes a good leader, you should also ask yourself what type of education they received and what would make them a good leader. The first important key role of being a leader is to be a good listener. Some might ask: why should they be good listeners if they are leaders? Shouldn’t they be the ones who speak and don’t listen? Yes, they are the leader, but they need to listen and follow instructions so they don't miss any important information. They need to do this to know how to instruct their team on what to do. Leaders always seek and encourage the team to give them feedback so they can work to improve. The reason leaders like to listen to feedback is so they can know what they consider to be their strong point so they can work from that and improve it further. Along the same lines, they need to listen to criticism about what they did that was a weakness in them so they know what things they should avoid. If someone considers themselves a leader but doesn't like to accept positive criticism, then they probably aren't a true leader. want to become a leader themselves. These leaders can show them what they need to do to become a good leader like them. Any ordinary person can decide something, have courage and become the next leader who will change the world.
