There have always been social cliques for as long as I can remember. It’s the one constant in our growth that hasn’t completely changed. You find that your group of people grows as you move from grade school to college to the real world. The interactions of these groups may have been instrumental in your growth as a person and your perception of the world. You learn how certain cultures act and discover the truth behind stereotypes. Now I'm going to look at one of these cliques. From the name of this essay it is obvious which one. Nerd is used as a descriptive term, often used in a derogatory manner, indicating that a person is overly intellectual, obsessive, or socially deficient. There is this persistent stereotype that all nerds fit this mold. While this definition may seem true, I have discovered that being a nerd is definitely not a bad thing. Initially, I thought that everyone I described as nerds fell into this pool of ridiculously smart kids who knew everything about everything in this world. . As cool as that was, I understood that their intellect was focused on what interested them most. A nerd's interest can range from academics to Japanese animation to the fantasy genre of books and films. We start with the college nerd, probably the most common stereotypical nerd. Full of incorrect postures, nasal voices and a serious lack of social skills. This nerd subgroup only focuses on school. They pride themselves on their knowledge of mathematics, history, science and the rest of the field. Typically, you'd call them 4.0 GPA kids with their glasses taped on. Ask them anything and you're sure to get a more detailed answer than you want. Often seen as annoying with their constant pushing middle of paper......are not intimidated but rather praised for their intelligence. As we evolve as a species, generations come and go, and the current generation is significantly more open-minded than the last. Nerds are probably one of the greatest things to ever happen to the human race and it's pretty obvious how much we'll really need them in the long run. There is absolutely no reason to be ashamed of being a nerd. Although there are common misconceptions and a brutal but true stereotype for a considerable number of nerds. They are the future of our race, striving to become more than anyone else could become. Their attention to detail is what propels them to excellence and is a good reason to be proud. Watch these people create the best new inventions or stories to tell. With ambition as strong as their obsessions, there's absolutely nothing they can't do..
