In the world of neurology, there are a large amount of neurological disorders, conditions and diseases. A serious illness is known as multiple sclerosis. In this research essay, I will discuss what multiple sclerosis is, its symptoms, causes, personal experience, and treatments. MS, as some would call it, also known as multiple sclerosis, is a neurological disease. This disease, in particular, could also be considered an autoimmune disease. It is nowhere near as deadly as the sexually transmitted disease (AIDS), but it can be just as debilitating. What exactly is multiple sclerosis? Multiple sclerosis is a disease in which the immune system malfunctions and begins to attack the myelin sheath. The myelin sheath is an insulating covering around the nerves. Myelin provides the nervous system with communication signals. Once myelin begins to deteriorate, the signals providing specific voluntary movements are distorted. After the self-involuntary damage, scars begin to form, thus concluding the term sclerosis. Why does this self-inflicted deconstruction of myelin occur? Multiple sclerosis is said to be caused by genetic and environmental factors. Malnutrition and free radicals can all trigger a latent MS gene in a person. According to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, What Causes MS, studies indicate that "increasing evidence suggests that vitamin D plays an important role." People who live closer to the equator are exposed to a greater amount of sunlight throughout the year. As a result, they tend to have higher levels of naturally produced vitamin D. In fact, vitamin D has specific immune-boosting qualities. Tysabri is the new medication my father is taking, but he is considering stopping taking it. He wants to start eating healthy, lose forty pounds and slowly start exercising again. My father accepts it and he has become even stronger, more optimistic and optimistic about a future without multiple sclerosis. It is clear that multiple sclerosis is a terrible disease. Its multiple variations not only induce neurological weakening but can also lead to other disorders. Unfortunately, no cure has yet been created, but medication and a healthy lifestyle can make the sufferer's life much easier.
