Bill Cosby quotes: “Sex education may be a good idea in schools, but I don't believe kids should have homework. » Although Cosby takes the situation lightly, it is imperative to educate young people about sex and sexuality to provide them with a holistic educational experience. Being in the know allows and provides students with facts about sexual activity that they were not aware of. Once a student is knowledgeable about certain topics, they will be able to apply their knowledge to their own life. Some say that teaching teenagers about sexuality will only encourage them to experiment with sex at a younger age. However, research shows that sex education taught in school actually delays sexual activity. Opponents of sex education in public schools argue that discussion of sexual activity should take place at home with parents and not in the school setting. Although sex is a very personal topic of discussion for most people, the facts about illness and pregnancy are not always taught within the home.
