  • Essay / Essay on Wasting Time on Electronics - 1114

I personally don't think so, but I know there are many ways to waste time on electronics. Just as there are ways to use social media productively by raising awareness or building community, there are also ways to waste time. Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter are just a few examples of social media apps/websites that teens can waste hours on. Time can pass a lot faster than you think just by scrolling through some of your friends' spring break photos or watching that cute video of the kittens playing with a ball of yarn over and over again. There are also apps like Youtube that allow you to waste your time watching endless videos about things that you don't even know how you got there. Another way to use screen time negatively in the form of an app is to play time-wasting games. The world of games is vast and there are many different types of games that you can play in different locations. I'm talking specifically about the games you play on electronics. I like to divide games into 2 groups; long term and short term. There are more short-term games, but adolescents spend more time on long-term games. I like to think of short-term games as the games you play when you have nothing to do or are procrastinating. These are quick games (depending on how many times you play them), which sometimes have levels, which you can play to get a high score and simply delete them when you just don't like them.
