The main challenge the Rocky Road School District currently faces is the numerous lawsuits filed by former parents and staff members. As well as the lack of teamwork that manifests itself within the neighborhood. Having a meeting with all the directors of the Rocky Road district is a plus. Negotiate teacher contracts and hire qualified new teachers who will help improve the district's test scores. Giving parents the feeling that their children are receiving a good education is a major challenge. My main challenge will be to involve all parties in the “Striving for Excellence” movement. Our primary concern is to have faculty, staff, students, parents and the community working together to ensure the success of the Rocky Road School District. It takes a team to resolve such a complicated situation. My three-year plan is called the Strive for Excellence plan. For the first two years, I will focus on the decline in test scores over the last three years. By having all staff review the 2,800 students who were below average all three years. The requirement for mandatory training for all teachers and staff should be completed after reviewing the data. They are thus able to identify the specific strengths and weaknesses of their student. The teacher will know where to focus their attention. (Sue W. Astley, 2016) School improvement is an evolving process that requires constant monitoring of progress and constant input. A special computer program is needed in the Rocky Road School District to more efficiently pull records for any student or class. This will also make it easier to monitor progress over the two years. A committee of parents and staff will be created to better understand the data, propose methods to increase scores, and maintain the...... middle of paper ...... necessary to regularly track each student's progress , work one-on-one with all students at least once a month, assign students strategies and homework to improve fluency and understanding. With the support of the district, administrators, faculty, staff, students and parents, I can turn the tide within my five-year contract. Ensuring our teachers have the prerequisite training, resources and knowledge needed to educate students in the Rocky Road School District. By creating and using a computer program that will measure the progress of all students in the district. Interventions will be put in place for students experiencing difficulties in reading and mathematics. The district will fund several teachers to mentor students in need before and after school. The plan will be in place for two years and will be subject to review for revision based on testing results at that time..
