Many people wonder whether or not juveniles should be tried as adults. Some say their unstable mentality and underdeveloped maturity levels are not comparable to the state an adult is in; However, not everyone shares the same view. Others believe that if a juvenile commits a crime against an adult, he or she should serve an adult sentence. They believe that miners are more than capable of discerning what is right from what is wrong. They offer a well-developed explanation that is worth considering. With their conviction, they explain how being tried as an adult can stop further criminal prosecutions in the future, how juvenile courts are not effective, and how victim families have been affected by the actions of the condemned. However, are adult justice systems exactly what offenders need? Young offenders should remain in juvenile courts due to their differences in judgment and prosecution methods, and there are other ways to teach right and wrong through psychologists and rehabilitation. As a child grows, they are taught that all choices have a cause and a consequence. effect. Whether they make the right choice or not, they know the difference between the two. With this in mind, those who believe that juveniles should be judged as adults believe that a child knows what is right and what is wrong. From around the age of twelve, people assume that the minor is "fully aware of the [choice] to intentionally cause harm" to others (Banda). Therefore, people conclude that in such acts the minor should be judged in the same way as an adult. While age, background, and circumstances are considered in juvenile court, they are no longer considered in the adult court system. Adult court...... middle of paper ...... instead of being punished for their actions. Even adults don't learn from their mistakes and continue to make them. Why should young children be given even a small chance to follow in these footsteps? It is thanks to help that adults, not to mention young children, have been able to change their lives. Everyone deserves to have some form of second chance, regardless of how they use that chance or not to improve their life or choose the same path. Works CitedBanda, Andrea.
