Essay / How Immigrants Can Achieve the American Dream - 738
People from everywhere are leaving their countries and families to immigrate to the United States in search of the "American Dream." The term America Dream has a different interpretation for everyone. For some people, the American Dream means the pursuit of material prosperity, for others it means achieving their personal goals in life that they could not achieve in their home country. Every citizen of the United States of America has the opportunity to achieve this, but it will depend on their perseverance and effort. If everyone has the same opportunities in America, why do some people's dreams come true and others don't? I've heard people say that the age of learning a new language can be one of the biggest factors why people can't achieve their American dream. . But my friend Diana came to America when she was 12 years old. She went to middle school, high school and finally she graduated. She learns and speaks English perfectly, but she has never studied anything... after high school. She works as a receptionist in an office and always complains about her salary. The term “America Dream” does not exist for her; she had never had any obstacle to achieving a dream if she had one. This country gives everyone the opportunity to study and build a career. University is often designed for people of all ages and with different responsibilities, the university offers many different class schedules to choose from depending on their time. Like me, I can only attend as a part-time student, as I have other responsibilities besides my studies. Also, I heard some people say that when you immigrate with your family, it is too difficult to do something for yourself because you have to take care of your family first. But I met people in the middle of the newspaper......migrants move to America thinking that this country is the land of opportunity. But after a while, they realize that it is not as easy as it seems. From my point of view, age is not a barrier to learning a new language or even making a career. We all have the same capacity to learn. Doctors must undergo training at all times, even after finishing their career, to have knowledge about new medicine and more, which proves that people's age is not a learning problem. Plus coming with family and having more responsibilities than others is not another problem, it cannot prevent you from realizing your dream. No matter what, big or small, short or long, everyone can achieve their "American dream", but it will have been easy, we need a lot of dedication, perseverance and commitment. The most important factor is to realize your American dream and go for it.!
