This quote came up on the occasion when the comparison of good and evil was being questioned. So, is she really a good, God-fearing woman or is she playing some kind of manipulative game to get into the misfit's head? This question seems to remain unanswered because we as readers will never really know since the grandmother was killed. One expects to think that the misfit might come from a troubled past since becoming a serial killer. and a convict escaped from prison. But, in the story, O'Connor also provides insight into the misfits' past. It shows the misfit reflecting on a previous conversation he had with his father. We can then share the experience and some thoughts that may come to his mind when making his decisions. [The Misfit:] “My dad said I was a different breed of dog than my siblings. "You know," Dad said, "there are some who can love all their lives without asking for anything and the others have to know why, and this boy is one of the latter. He's going to be in everything." This quote gives important information and insight into the things that can cross the minds of misfits. This explains part of his personality and further explains his curiosity. These are just some of the many themes surrounding. Everyone's life has their own opinion on certain issues and depends on their values, judgment and beliefs to overcome their difficulties. Good and evil can be defined in several ways. 'other since people want to believe and see only the good in themselves and in a person. Denial is the essence that seems to destabilize everyone. In conclusion, both the grandmother and the misfit exhibited traits of good and evil. But no one can truly recognize the difference between good and evil because they convince themselves to believe what they want. People are so condemned in what they want to believe that sometimes they fail to see the true picture..
