  • Essay / Overcoming fear of genetically modified foods

The world is developing; positively and negatively. Some people don't even realize that the world is struggling to produce food. Currently, this is not as clear as it will be in the future. Most of society has difficulty accepting the fact that there is a solution to the problems of food production. The key is to produce GMOs, that is, genetically modified organisms. The world must overcome its fear of genetically modified foods, as they will be of enormous importance in the future. Genetically modified foods are often confused with fake foods grown in test tubes or injected with chemicals. Instead of seeing the negative aspects of genetically modified foods, people need to start seeing the positive aspects because of the purpose it will serve in the years to come. The world's food problems are caused by global warming, population growth and problematic weather conditions, but can be solved with GMOs. For people to accept what GMOs are, they must first understand what they are and the reasons why they could possibly save their lives in the future. Many people are under the impression that genetically modified foods are artificial foods and are loaded with chemicals. But if this were true, the government would not allow the trade in genetically modified foods. It is crucial that people overcome their fear of genetically modified foods and realize their benefits. Additionally, GMOs are still in the early stages of development and continue to improve through scientific advancements. A process of “editing” genes in the food’s DNA is used. One of the most promising genetic engineering tools is Talens. The nuclei and proteins are fused and cut the DNA, creating a precise editing tool. Then a plant gene gun is used... middle of paper ... and if people don't allow more research and continue to protest this research, the world will face a huge problem in the future where GMOs will be most needed. This is why people need to overcome their fear of genetically modified foods and be open-minded about them. The world and its citizens must decide whether they prefer to live in a world of hunger or a world of genetically modified foods, because the future will be very different. of what the world is like today. Something must be done about the global food crisis and, at present, GMOs represent one of the few effective solutions. The fear of genetic modification of food must be overcome and society must open its eyes and face the truth about genetic modification. Science and technology will continue to develop, as will the planet and people. The solution is genetic modification.
