  • Essay / Antecedent of cooperative learning and its results

This study focuses entirely on cooperative learning. The research revealed in a literature review that very little work has been done in this area. This study merges the concept of CTI (knowledge creation, knowledge transfer and knowledge integration) developed by Zarraga and Gracia-Falcon (2003) and the work of Janz and Prasamphanich (2003). They conducted their research in Spain and the United States respectively, while the present study is conducted in Pakistan. This study provides information on what cooperative learning is, what are the requirements for generating cooperative learning in organizations? Furthermore, the study explored what impact cooperative learning will have on individual and organizational outcomes. The study also explains the term synergy. Employee autonomy and organizational climate are considered antecedents of cooperative learning, while individual satisfaction and job performance are tested as outcomes. To test the research model and hypotheses, a LISREL software package is used. The data was collected from 127 professionals (information systems development) working in software publishers. Managerial involvement and future research have been discussed in this study. Keywords: cooperative learning, autonomy, organizational climate, satisfaction, performance, knowledge creation, knowledge transfer, knowledge integration, information systems professional, teamwork, LISREL, structural equation model.1.
