Case Analysis Unit 1: Apple Inc.GB520 Strategic Human Resource ManagementAbout “Strategic management is an ongoing process that evaluates and controls the business and sectors in which the company is involved. ; evaluates competitors and sets goals and strategies to respond to all existing and potential competitors; then re-evaluates each strategy annually or quarterly [i.e. regularly] to determine how it was implemented and whether it was successful or whether it needs to be replaced by a new strategy to respond to changing circumstances, to a new technology, to new competitors, to a new economic environment or to a new social, financial or political environment” (Lamb, 1984: ix). In 2008, Harvard's business case study for Apple Inc. describes a very popular company that had a revenue of 24 billion in 2007 and how the company has some concerns for many years. The status of the company was examined in depth in the article which identified several strategic steps of the CEO in marketing, not only in the computer industry and in the consumer electronics industry. This question will be addressed in this strategic management analysis document. The final section of this paper will offer recommendations on some of the challenges Apple, Inc. has encountered in the process of implementing successful changes. The purpose of this mission statement is to define in simple terms the reason and purpose for its existence. This can be very difficult to build as it requires having a clear and concise understanding and vision of the Organization and ultimately understanding why it exists.
