My entire identity consists primarily of an anthology of my stories, poems, and art. However, I struggled to get my stories heard correctly. A little over two years ago, I came across spoken word poetry and felt like I had discovered a whole new medium for self-expression and a community full of quirky, awkward, amazing poets who were also in love with this art form. In the indulgence of my literary passion, I realized that this was a perfect way for me to channel my love for writing into a performance that was both inspired and inspiring. Drawing inspiration from my own life, the growth of my city, the people around me, and the poets who came before me, I have an overwhelming desire to write my story and inspire others to write theirs in the process. It is for this reason that I chose to study creative writing in order to refine my writing skills and use them effectively. My love for poetry has led me to participate in countless experiences that have shaped my own writing and who I am as a writer. entire. Besides the influences of artists like Allen Ginsberg, Sylvia Plath, Shane Koyczan, and Bill Watterson, my own journey has led me through a path that has helped shape my writing style and identity. Starting as the winner of a small slam poetry competition, I went on to participate in much larger events, performing in various venues, building friendships and collaborating with artists from a thriving community of writers, of poets, musicians and teachers inside and outside my country. As a member of a Nepali spoken word poetry organization, Word Warriors, I have also organized several workshops and taken this art form to different places. Over the past year, I worked as part of a Word Warriors team that organized a two-week tour of the West... middle of paper ... of emotional and creative expression. I am proud to have pursued this passion and collaborated with talented street, studio and visual artists while painting murals for a human rights film festival and World Handwashing Awareness Day , hosting poetry events with live paintings and creating performance art cohesively with poetry, visual arts and original music. Therefore, it constitutes an immeasurable part of my artistic dynamism which also perfectly supports my writing. It is impossible to fully assess one's achievements and commitments in the future, but I am confident that with an undergraduate education in creative writing, I can finally pursue a career in the literary field with greater expertise and verve . I will be able to make a difference in my community by spreading poetry and using it as a way to inspire people and get stories heard..
