Domain 3 focuses on my ability to instruct. I'm not as clear as I should be this year. My expectations are clearly stated and described, but not my directions. For example, in 3a, I would normally guide my students through a lesson by stating my expectations, explaining the instructions, and writing them on the board. However, this year that is not the case. I spend too much time with the three new science teachers. Additionally, my students are weaker this year than in previous years. So even though my instructions are clear, modeled, and guided, too many students don't understand the expectations. I will have to work harder to write instructions on the board, I hope this will help more students meet the expectations of all lessons. I could have rated myself as distinguished for 3b, the questioning and discussion techniques component; however, this rating would only be true for less than half of my students.
