On April 20, 1999, in the small suburban town of Littleton, Colorado, two high school students, Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris, launched a large-scale attack on Columbine High School across the middle of the school day. The boys' idea was to kill several of their colleagues. Equipped with guns, knives and a large number of bombs, the two boys roamed the corridors and killed. When the day was over, twelve students, a teacher, and the two murderers were dead; and 21 of them were injured. The haunting question remains: why did they decide to do this? Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris were very intelligent; they each came from strong homes with loving mothers and fathers, and they also had older brothers. At school, Klebold and Harris had each participated in sports like baseball and football. They also liked to use computers for fun. Harris was born in Wichita, Kansas. His father Wayne Harris was a United States Air Force transport pilot who commanded eleven completely different stations at six bases in Ohio, Michigan and New York. This forced the Harris family to move often before Wayne was forced to retire in 1993 due to budget cuts and become a part-time provider. At this time, in July, the family moved to Littleton, Colorado. They lived in a place where they became best friends. In 1995, Harris began attending Columbine High School, the following year; the Harris family had purchased a house very close to Columbine High School. Klebold was born in Lakewood, Colorado. His father Tom ran a small business from home and his mother Susan was an employment counselor. The Klebolds attended a Lutheran church, but he had additionally seen Russian human rituals, as Klebold's grandparent believed in the religion...... middle of paper ...... they are officers and paramedics who were outside. Between 12: Between 5 and 12:08 p.m., Klebold and Harris walked to the side of the library and shot themselves in the head, ending the Columbine massacre. It is difficult to pinpoint a trigger that set these two boys on a bloody rampage. They worked very hard to deceive everyone around them for over a year. Surprisingly, a few months before the event, the Klebold family took a four-day road trip to the University of Arizona, and Dylan was accepted for next year. Throughout the trip, the Klebolds didn't notice anything strange or unusual about Dylan. The counselors and others didn't notice that they were acting strange. Looking back, there were hints and tell-tale clues that there really was something wrong. The videotapes, newspapers, weapons and bombs in their rooms would not have been hidden and could have been easily found if they had looked..
