South Western High School should allow the use of school bags throughout the school day. First, book bags would be more effective than spasmodic locker stops throughout the day. If the student has their bag with them, they will have everything they need for the day. This will prevent students from having to leave the classroom to retrieve items they left in their lockers. This also makes it easier for students whose lockers are at ends of the building. Additionally, there will be less confusion in classrooms. Yes, teachers may complain, “But I’m going to trip over the bag while walking through my classroom,” but they really won’t. Students can place their bags in baskets under the desks. Well, why can't they do that with their binders? It's possible, but some binders don't fit or things always fall out. Instead of having debris from student materials on the floor, students can put their materials in their bags. The room would be less messy, you won't have student debris on the floor and it will be easier to move around. More importantly, gym bags are a problem. Lockers come in all kinds of sizes....
