In the world we live in today, everything involves some kind of technology. We are surrounded by it 24/7 and we personally use it every day. Right now, I'm using technology to write this essay. Technology has made man's life easier and helped us a lot, but it has its drawbacks. We are too dependent on it. People are still able to live long, healthy lives without as much technology. All these advances help us for the moment, but in the long run they are slowly killing us. I'm not going to lie. Technology offers us many advantages that we can benefit from. With all the technology we have today, we have been able to find cures for certain diseases. It helps us stay connected with our friends and family. It doesn't matter if that person is on the other side of the world; with the power of technology, you can always email, text, webcam or call them. I have a German friend who went on an exchange during my sophomore year of high school and to this day we still keep in touch. This makes long distance relationships a little easier. Our cell phones could come in handy in an emergency. If you get lost or have an accident, you can quickly call anyone who can help you. We can use our phones to write down important information, set alarms, get directions and much more. If you have a school project to work on, go to Google and find lots of valuable information you need. At any time you can pull out your phone to search for a question and within a second you get a billion answers. With all the advancements in technology, we have many kitchen appliances that help us keep our food fresh and cook. What happens to using plain paper and pencil? Now some tea... middle of paper ......e because they are too busy texting. The other day I got on the bus and literally everyone around me was on their cell phones. What has become of our world? We are killing our brain cells with all this technology. It also makes me lose focus on the work I need to do. It takes me five hours to write an essay on my laptop because there are so many distractions. Some people may say that they don't depend on it because they are only required to use it for work and school. That's seventy-five percent of your life. Others may say that we must depend on it too because we simply cannot live without it. No one wants to admit that material things are the most important things in their life. We are all addicted to technology. I would love to see people experience a day without technology. I bet everyone would go absolutely crazy and go wild.
