  • Essay / Analysis of Southern Blacks by John B Boles - 973

I would also recommend this to any history readers who seem to be very passionate about the scoops on the real story of past history and feel not knowing how much information on the subject as they consider necessary. This book by Boles is the opposite of what one might expect when we see that the subject would be about slavery. When you open a book about slavery, you expect to hear how horrible the times were, how the past was such an iconic time because of the treatment of African Americans. I think it's important to spread the history of our generation because sometimes we try to ignore the past. What I do know is that this book makes me wonder if this problem is still with us today? And if so, is it still treated with ignorance like it was when it started? Understanding slavery and race in today's generations in the United States is a sensitive and controversial issue.
