    It's another morning and the room is white. There are bars all around and the smell of cleaner is everywhere. Soon I see a person holding a tube of something. The person comes towards me. Suddenly I come out of the bars and sit on a table. The person held me down and put the tube against me. It burns! I want to run but I can't. My heart rate increases and I start to shake. This will be done several times a day with several different tubes. The law requires that I receive painkillers, but they are minimal and wear off quickly. It's the life of a bunny testing cosmetics and really, the last way anyone wants to see a bunny. Unfortunately, many people suffer this fate. Many people around the world believe that animal testing should be banned. The reasons and ideology may be different, but the same goal is the same. Completely banning animal testing is that goal. There are a few main reasons why so many people think animal testing should be banned. First, animal testing requires increased oversight. A likely objection to this would be to bring up the Animal Welfare Act. However, this law specifies that “alternatives to animal testing must be considered; however, it does not restrict any procedures or conditions to which an animal may also be subjected during the experiment, which may include pain and distress. » (In Defense of Animals, 100) Many believe that the animal protection law may have contributed to animal experimentation. However, this quote from the organization In Defense of Animals. “The AWF [Animal Welfare Act] did not regulate the care or use of rodents, birds and farm animals as they were exempt. Unfortunately, it is these species that account for 80% of all animals used in animal testing. (In Animal Defense, 1o1) So sure, you could protect... middle of paper ...... being poked, prodded and exposed should come together and help make a difference.
