5A and 5B are identifying and entering into conversations. Entering a conversation involves writing an essay on a current topic that is usually polarizing or controversial. As a writer, it is my duty to state the topic, take a stand, provide multiple perspectives, and ultimately explain the importance of the topic. I started using this technique during my senior year of high school in my expository reading and writing class.
