On December 14, 2012, 20-year-old Adam Lanza shot and killed twenty children and six adult staff members in a mass murder at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Before the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, Lanza shot and killed his mother, Nancy Lanza, at her home in Newtown, Connecticut. After the shooting, Lanza managed to commit suicide before being arrested. Which left the state, officials and the entire country wondering why Lanza would commit such a horrific act of violence against innocent children and school staff. Also, questioning the safety of schools, and even our country. There are many conspiracies about the Sandy Hook shooting. Some believe that Adam Lanza was not the murderer. He was just a scapegoat and the deaths were actually pretended by the government. Some claim that Adam Lanza wasn't even a real person or that he had died some time ago and his identity had been assimilated to the fictional character created to be the perpetrator of the crime. On the contrary, there is evidence that the massacre is not a hoax, and Adam Lanza did in fact kill children, adults, and himself at Sandy Hook Elementary School. In the small town of Newtown, Connecticut, Sandy Hook Elementary School is home to many students and families. Newtown, Fairfield County, Connecticut, had a population of 28,000, approximately sixty miles from New York City. The surrounding community was greatly affected. The massacre which deeply shocked the families of the victims has traumatized the entire nation. Citizens were plunged into doubt and suspicion, hence the roots of the conspiracies. Not only are the Sandy Hook Elementary School theories false, they show no respect for the families and loved ones who lost parts of their lives.
