Identity is the concept of knowing oneself by following a lineage and other factors that make a person (Korfmacher, 25). In most cases of identification, the individual is expected to follow their background and affiliate with a group. In this case, a group can be a family, a tribe, a nation, a culture and many others. As we've already mentioned, many people find it easy to identify with a group, but many people don't either. Some people have struggled with what is commonly referred to as an identity crisis. Many factors have led to such unfamiliar cases, and these cases are unfamiliar because everyone is expected to affiliate with a group. The core group that a person can identify with is a family which provides an individual sense of their full identity. The family will help the individual learn about the culture and other identity groups. This concept is reinforced by the saying that “Every person is a story,” which connects the person to the group. In attempting to show identification, this article will touch on many aspects of family and give an account of my family history. This narration will also bring to light many issues that affect identity. As already mentioned in the introduction, family plays a crucial role in an individual's identity. The composition of a family defines the type of family one belongs to (Cootnz, 15). For example, the nuclear family, which constitutes the basic unit of the family, consists of the father, mother and children. There is also the extended family which is an extension of the father and mother. Members include maternal and paternal families, which include the father's and mother's siblings. This also includes in-laws and children in case they are married. Identity is the revelation of an individual totality. . Identity crisis is a problem that many people face, and recovering from it is a daunting task for many. Therefore, the family and cultural couple with their spices will help an individual overcome some of this problem. The totality of identity contains the inner and outer aspect of an individual and its crisis leads to both physical and emotional suffering. This is the reason why identity crisis has given rise to cases of suicide and even mental problems. Again, it is important for an individual to fully acquire their identity as the world has witnessed recurring wars resulting from identity issues. It is therefore very important that everyone associates with at least one group or acquires a complete identity..
