    The film Amistad is an incredible and inspiring film about the struggle for freedom. Amistad tells the story of a case that occurred before the Civil War between a group of illegal slaves who were kidnapped from their homes in Africa. Through vivid and brutal images, the film helped depict what really happened to slaves during the slave trade and to the American justice system during these historical periods. The film depicts the conflicts and corruption that slavery brought to the United States. The film first takes place on a ship, La Amistad, where illegal slaves were taken from Africa and shipped to the Americas to become slaves. The first scene shows a brutal and bloody revolt among the Africans who kill all members of the crew except two gentlemen. The two gentlemen made the slaves believe that they were taking them home, when in reality they were heading towards the eastern United States.
