Analysis of traditions and rituals from around the worldThere are traditions and/or rituals that we participate in year after year, even if we have forgotten the meaning or where he has been since. Each of us has experienced some type of ritual or tradition in one form or another. Marriage and wedding rituals and traditions are also true to this. There are different cultures that celebrate in different ways all over the world. There is a tradition for Eastern Europe, Western Europe, South America, North America and even the Caribbean and Oceania. I suppose there is a tradition or ritual for every corner of our world and for every tribe. I've even seen animal marriages. Everyone seems to be getting into a ceremony! Within all of these different ceremonies, the traditions and rituals have changed over the years. Hundreds of years ago, some couples didn't even know each other when they got married, or were matched by tribes or royal relatives to choose the couple that would be best for the family. Just imagine not meeting the one you are supposed to marry and spend the rest of your life with until the day of the ceremony. These traditions have been kept sacred and enforced simply because it has always been that way. Most wedding ceremonies would consist of the same rituals and traditions that would be passed down from generation to generation. Most people don't even know what most traditions mean. Unfortunately, with time and more modern methods, these rituals are being modified. Going back to the days of our great-great-grandparents, I wonder if they would search as hard as people do today to find that "soul mate" that It's a promise... in the midst of 'a paper......owing the couple rice would represent good luck for the couple and that they would have a full pantry and good fortune. Rice throwing became obsolete due to harm to animals and was replaced by rose petals, birdseed and bubbles. Another end-of-ceremony tradition that is interesting to know about and that I don't see anymore is "making noise." It was believed that if loud noises were made by the guest, as the couple left, it would ward off the spirits. How can this tradition be respected when so many people get married in these “destination weddings”. I suppose they could stomp the sand while the couple walks away. In today's society, very few wedding traditions from the past are carried on in ceremonies. Couples now choose the most traditional weddings and don't know what all the old traditions and rituals represent..
