  • Essay / The Morality of Love in the Apostle Paul's Agape Love

This love is an unpretentious and genuine love directed toward one another as soul mates. It does not focus on parents from the same country, city or locality. It is not reserved for people sharing the same religious beliefs, ethnic groups or cultural groups. Rather, he sees the differences and reinforces them with love. The apostle Paul illustrated this by saying: Love one another with brotherly affection. Surpass each other by showing honor. It is a love that is defined as a part of home that is intrinsically part of the Body of Christ. Frequently, when I am in church or in communication with people of faith, saying I love you is an expression of this Philia.
