Essay / Critically Reflecting on My Productivity While Studying
In this article, I will demonstrate the two major habits that challenged me daily while studying for exams. Get an original essay The year I worked on my secondary school certificate (grade 12), I realized that I lacked concentration during crucial moments. I was studying with friends and they always seemed to find a way to divert the topic from what was necessary. According to a few studies that looked at focus and/or lack thereof, they found that once an individual loses focus, it can take up to 25 minutes to regain clarity and focus. In this particular situation, I realized the implications of studying with friends and decided to study alone. Albert Einstein once said: “I fear the day when technology surpasses human interaction. As I started thinking about issues outside of whatever work I had to do at the moment and most of the time I focused on music or watching videos online. What I didn't realize was that an effective way to focus was to practice meditation before studying, as this has been shown to increase/develop focal regions of the brain. As I will be looking to study on my own, I will use meditation as a tool to increase focus and even stress for future studies. What was also discovered was that when Scott is easily distracted, he tends to delay even starting the task. as long as he can or is even more likely to “cut expenses,” as he says about deadlines. This of course goes hand in hand with time management and/or a lack of time. This was discovered in a study on the “Relationship between time management and procrastination” and they discovered a link between those who tend to organize their time and a decrease in procrastination as a result. Based on the results shown for those who organize their time effectively and those who don't, I think the best option for me is to start organizing my time using planners and the like..
