    Effective leadership and management are essential aspects in terms of the success of a healthcare organization. A great leader can discover what is universal and take advantage of it by motivating his colleagues towards a better future. Great leaders transcend differences of race, age, gender, nationality and personality; using stories and celebrating heroes (Buckingham, 2005). While great managers know the unique abilities and eccentricity of their employees, and can integrate them into a coordinated plan of action (Buckingham, 2005). Buckingham (2005) further explains that identifying and capitalizing on the uniqueness of each person saves time and also makes each person more accountable. By also capitalizing, great managers develop a stronger sense of teamwork and introduce a healthy degree of disruption, essential to the success of any organization. Buckingham (2005) provides an example of how a customer service representative named Manjit at a Walgreens store in San Jose, California consistently outperformed her peers. Manjit was a normal artist until the current store owner Mr. Jim came on board. Mr. Jim proved to be an excellent manager by quickly identifying Manjit's idiosyncrasies and translating them into exceptional performance. Manjit loved public recognition and Jim recognized this by highlighting his scores in red on the walls and also displaying photos documenting his success. Other store employees quickly realized that Jim viewed his employees as distinct individuals and evaluated them based on their personal strengths.
