Adolf Hitler's military tactics, poor leadership skills and actions caused him to lose World War II. Hitler's goal was to achieve world power. He was willing to risk everything for Germany to become the most powerful country. According to Richard Overy, British historian, “if the German people are not prepared to commit to their own survival, then so be it: then they must disappear!” » (538). Hitler was also willing to sacrifice Germany to achieve global control and victory in World War II. The idea of losing World War II never entered Hitler's mind because he was convinced that Germany would achieve victory in the war. Germany was unable to claim victory in World War II due to poor military direction. Hitler's military tactics led to Germany's defeat in the war. According to military historian Williamson Murray, "unsurprisingly, the Battle of Britain was a dismal failure not only for the Luftwaffe, but also for German strategy" (34). Hitler was unable to come up with an effective strategy to lead Germany to victory because he was primarily concerned with eliminating the Jews. It mainly focused on the implementation of the “Final Solution” in European countries. Hitler's failure as leader of Germany indicated that his military plans had many flaws. One of the tactics Hitler and his army used to help defeat their enemies was blitzkrieg. According to historian Andrew Roberts, "the Blitzkrieg relied on fast-moving armored columns punching deep holes in the enemy front, closely supported by dive bombers and truck-borne infantry" (37). Germany had the advantage of using the blitzkrieg tactic because it helped them quickly surprise, move, and attack their opponents.
