    Motivation is a reason to behave in a particular way. Mr. Ferrell uses the Theory-X motivational approach on Amy. Mr. Ferrell tends to have a pessimistic view of his employee and he assumes that the employee is not motivated and does not like his job. And the manager who follows Theory-X has a different thinking, because the team members need to be constantly punished, taken care of them and ensured that whether they completed their task or not. The approach the manager uses is totally authoritarian, just do the things I told you and finish it on time when I told you to. Amy is not allowed to change one small thing using her own creativity, she should be totally dependent on her manager to do what he says. Mr. Ferrell still thinks Amy is trying to avoid responsibility. So he has to remind or threaten her and supervise her every step so that all the work is done on time and without errors because he doesn't trust Amy.
