  • Essay / Renewable Energy: Wind Power - 788

Today we use fossil fuels for many things. Fossil fuels are the fossils of dead plants and animals. We need fossil fuels for electricity, cooking and even the shampoo we use every day. The most common fossil fuels were coal, oil and gas, but scientists now estimate that in 150 years we will run out of fossil fuels. Another fact is that fossil fuel extraction creates a huge amount of pollution and actually harms the environment. The best solution was to use wind power as energy. Wind power is electricity powered by the windmill. This energy is renewable and sustainable, meaning it will always be able to get electricity from it unless there is no wind. Wind energy worked primarily through wind. First, the wind turns the blade, and the blades spin a turbine, which generates electricity, then the cable goes down inside the tower. Finally, the cable carried electricity to where it was needed. Wind energy brings many benefits. Of course, it was renewable and sustainable. Apart from this, wind turbines also do not create air pollution. Winds blow stronger in winter and provide more electricity than usual. For example, they usually supplied 3% of the UK's energy, but in winter they were able to supply 4%. This is because the wind is blowing stronger than before, and each wind farm is getting a little more energy, and there are so many wind farms. Which could be a big difference from what usually happens. The operating costs of wind power are very low, so the electricity could be cheaper than electricity provided by fossil fuels. Additionally, the wind farm (where the wind turbine was installed) can produce income for the farmer...... middle of paper ......t limits as much as other renewable energies. People (farmers, land owners) could live around it, and unlike other energies, it was not dangerous, and people need not be afraid of the natural disaster it causes. Wind energy does not create any air pollution and it is capable of providing a large amount of energy, which in strong wind conditions like the UK can provide 10% of the energy in it. Wind is present almost everywhere, so it can always provide energy to different places. So the best advantage was that you could live the rest of your life with technology as usual, and at the same time, it was sustainable and renewable, meaning it could last forever, and at the same time, you wouldn't will not pollute the environment. So in conclusion, wind energy was better than other renewable energies.
