Essay / The Results of the War of 1812 - 500 . This statement, for the most part, is not true. Without this war, many of the changes resulting from the war would not have occurred. The War of 1812 brought about many important events. These events were both direct and indirect. Although the war accomplished none of the results initially hoped for, it became a turning point in American history. Most of the problems that America had begun to fight for disappeared soon after the war, around the same time that the indirect effects of the war began to be felt. These direct effects mainly concerned printing and blockades, while the indirect effects mainly concerned the rise of Andrew Jackson, William Henry Harrison, and the decline of the Federalists. After the war, the United States was at peace with Great Britain. Peace did not give the British the need to engage in acts such as impressionism....
