Essay / George Patton - 1013
George Patton Jr. is the man who introduced modern military strategy to the world. George Patton came from a family with military experience, his father, after whom he is named, and his grandfather were in the army. So it was expected that Patton would also serve in the military. Patton was an American general who fought in both world wars. Although he fought in World War I, he is best known for his victories in World War II. It was in this war that he presented the new war strategy. This strategy includes fast, aggressive attacks and the use of a strategy now called Battle Command. This fast, aggressive war is called blitzkrieg. Combatant command is “the art and science of understanding, visualizing, describing, directing, directing, and evaluating forces to impose the will of the commander on a hostile, thoughtful, and adaptive enemy” (usacac.army.mil). This idea was not officially defined in the military until the 1990s. It used these two tactics together to create a very effective and masterful method of warfare. George Patton is arguably one of the greatest generals America has ever known. His revolutionary military strategy changed the way war is “played.” Combatant command can be a very useful strategy in war, but there has been much dispute about its effectiveness. Relating this tactic to the world of sports is an easy way to understand why this strategy may not be the best. The simplest sport that Battle Command relates to is football. The quarterback is the one who is on the field, makes decisions and leads the offense, in accordance with the concept of Battle Command. He must visualize each play in his head in a split second, he must be aware of the surroundings while looking to move forward...... middle of paper ...... general who is considered a strategist. Patton He was a great general, there is no doubt about that. There is also no doubt that he is a master of military strategy. He mastered a very difficult tactic, Battle Command, put that mastery to good use and blew up any opposition he faced. Blitzkrieg is a very risky war strategy. Disadvantages include the possibility of massive injury and mass death. But this strategy has great advantages. If executed perfectly, the result will be incredible. This aggressive and rapid tactic, when executed correctly, will allow for an easy victory with minimal casualties. General George S. Patton Jr. used blitzkrieg perfectly and he won almost every battle using this method. There is no doubt that General Patton is the master of military strategy and always will be. With these achievements, this subject is now indisputable.
