Essay / Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol - 1629
Driving under the influence of alcohol has been a major problem in America for over 50 years (Raymond). Many accidents are caused by drunk driving every year, resulting in thousands of innocent deaths and injuries. When alcohol is mixed with operating a motor vehicle, there are no limits on who is at risk. This means that drunk driving has hurt, injured, and killed many innocent people in America. Over the years, I have witnessed many consequences of drunk driving accidents and have heard of many accidents resulting from drinking involving people I know and people I don't know. Sometimes in accidents like this, all parties involved can walk away with little to no injuries, but unfortunately, this is not the case for all accidents caused by alcohol consumption. Oakville High School (the school I attend) recently held a mock car crash to recreate and demonstrate a car crash scene that happened in real life. This accident involved alcohol consumption and was a horrific scene; some spectators even had to leave because the event was upsetting. I think this event really had an impact on my peers and the school made a ve...... middle of paper......just to see what the future holds for me.
