  • Essay / Veterinarians: stages, life and benefits - 1194

Becoming a veterinarian is not only a simple career choice, but also rather a passion, a childhood dream or an aspiration. Ever since I was little, being around animals ten times my size was just an adrenaline rush. When an animal was found injured or looking for shelter, someone would come to me because I was always trying to identify the predicament. Then I asked my beloved mother if I could keep it. The longest time I spent with the animal was usually at night. The next day I had to go to animal control. I have saved everything, rats, birds, cats, dogs, rabbits, snakes; you name it, I tried to keep it. The first time I decided that being a veterinarian was going to be my career was back in elementary school. There was an assignment where I had to design a flip book about my personality and I remember writing about how veterinary medicine captured all of my interests. Since then, my mind has remained consistent. Although I have researched and watched interesting documentaries, there is much more to discover, and the more I discover, the more fascinated I become. First, to become a veterinarian, the first steps begin in high school, starting with core classes. The courses to take and recommended to obtain high grades are: chemistry, biology and mathematics. Advanced science and organic chemistry as well, which are big steps for future college courses. Environmental sciences allow us to understand the living conditions and habitat structures of animals. (Jack Rella, http://www.ehow.com/) Learning about animal structure allows you to understand how an animal's body works and its behavioral routines. Living conditions, on the other hand, show diverse areas...... middle of paper...... I wanted to become a veterinarian. In his case it wasn't possible, but making him proud is something I'm willing to make my priority. The road may be bumpy, but all that matters is the finish line.
