    Academic writing is an essential part of your success as a college student, many professors require the type of components included in academic writing. A rhetorical situation may be the only factor that determines the key elements of any writing. It is also a way to show the differences between academic writings. A rhetorical situation requires many elements, including a properly written thesis, numerous research sources, carefully crafted citations, and thorough checks for plagiarism through application, summarization, and paraphrasing. Learning to write academically shows that you know more than the information you researched, it's an in-depth analysis of the subject. Some people don't learn to write academically until they get to college. This is a real disadvantage because it can affect their grades and how other students and the professor perceive their work. Incorporating these elements into any form of writing can make it more interesting, more engaging, and more relevant to your audience. Academic writing can be defined in different ways: a formal definition, an extended definition, and a challenging definition. To be able to define it formally, it includes a definition from a dictionary source. “Academic writing is the process of breaking down ideas and using deductive reasoning, a formal voice, and a third-person point of view.
